I want to bring my relatives to Italy how can I do it?
In case your relatives are living outside of Italy the process you have to follow is the family reunification one. But pay attention, not with all the types of permesso di soggiorno you can do it and you can bring only some types of relatives.
Which relatives can I bring?
- Spouse
- Children if they are minors: even if they were born outside of the marriage, if they are of your spouse, in this case the other parent of the children must give his consent
- Children if they are adult: only if they cannot live without the relative, means that you have to show they have health issues and a full disability
- Dependent Parents: That means they must be totally dependent from you (financially) and they must not have any other children in their home country

How much income do I need?
You need to sum up the minimum social annual security + the half of this amount, for each relative you want to bring. The social annual security this year is 7101,12€, and the half of it, it’s 3550,56€. So to bring one relative it will be necessary to have: 7101,12+3550,56=10.651,68€.

What about the documents I need from the apartment?
Regarding the apartment you will need to obtain the idoneità alloggiativa/abitativa, that is the housing suitability, a document from the comune that states your apartment has all the sanitary requirements and enough square meters for you and the relatives you want to bring, to live in.
Where can I apply for the family reunification?
You need to request the nulla osta for the family reunification from the Ministero dell’interno website. The process of the nulla osta will be long and complicated and after the request you may have to wait between 8 months to 1 year to obtain it.
After you receive the nulla osta, it will be given also to the Italian embassy of the country where your relative is living, and there he can ask the visa for the family reunification. Once he arrives to Italy, he has to go to the prefettura to receive his first kit, and then he has to send it from the postal office to receive an appointment.
